Dulse chips are easy to make in an air fryer.
Here is a half bag (25g) roasted for 5 mins in an air fryer
under a mesh, and broken into small pieces. Makes 12g

They are a useful ingredient adding savoiry flavour.
here I have used 12g roasted dulse pieces in a savoury hummous.

This is made by adding a half jar of light tahini to a drained tin of chick peas,
adding 12 g of roasted dulse pieces,
and blending.
Perfect for sandwiches.

Tattie Scones with Dulse

Tattie Scones with Seaveg Irish dulse flakes recipe.

Weigh your leftover mashed potato, and add about a third of the weight of wholemeal spelt flour to the mixing bowl,
together with a handful of flaked irish dulse and a teaspoon of baking powder.
Mix well and knead into a dough. Divide into flat cakes and gently fry these in a little oil for 5-6 mins a side.
Finish them off in the oven at 175C for 15 mins before serving.

Dulse has always been one of the most popular sea vegetables.
It is dark red in colour and can be found all round the coastal areas of the northern hemisphere above 50 degrees North or where the sea has a typical ambient temperature of below 14C.

There are numerous unregistered health claims made about dulse which are attributed to its wealth of available minerals which include notably Iodine, Potassium, Manganese, and Iron, and vitamins which include Vitamin A, and Vitamin B12 in significant amounts and others in much smaller quantities.
